- today the British, like other ethnic European imperialist, demand that their former colonies be demeocratic. They really do not have any right to do so but they show not the slightest embarrassment over their own past.
- the British kep the three races apart. While the Malays were immersed in peasant life in rural areas, the Chinese were concentratred in urban centres and the Indians in rubber estates.
